Wonder Girls Top Kpop Dancer - Most Popular On Asia

WONDERMODE - For many outside of Asia, Wonder Girls very likely served as an introduction to K-pop. The retro outfit saw its domestic popularity transfer stateside when they hit No. 76 on the Billboard Hot 100 with the English version of their Korean hit "Nobody" three years before "Gangnam Style," mind you. In a controversial move that still divides fans, Wonder Girls' label had the quintet leave Korea at the height of their popularity to focus on learning U.S. culture for a deeper American penetration.

While the girls toured America with the Jonas Brothers, released a TeenNick movie and even sang a duet with Stevie Wonder, an English album never surfaced after the Akon collaboration "Like Money" failed to chart. With Korea still happy to support them, the quintet earned two K-Pop Hot 100 No. 1s before announcing a hiatus in February 2013. The group's label insists Wonder Girls has not split up.

Wonder Girls (Korean: 원더걸스, Chinese: 奇迹女孩, Japanese: ワンダーガールズ) is a South Korean girl group, whose current line-up is Sunye, Yubin, Yeeun, Sunmi and Hyelim. They are managed by their producer, the singer-songwriter Park Jin-Young under his talent agency, JYP Entertainment. They are co-managed in the United States by Creative Artists Agency. wikipedia.org

Sunye's marriage and pregnancy, Sohee's departure, and group hiatus
Sunye announced in November 2012 that she would get married in January 2013 (as the first K-pop idol of the current generation); JYP announced that the group would be on hiatus. The Wonder Girls performed for the last time before their hiatus at the Winter Special Olympics in Pyeong Chang, South Korea on February 5, 2013. Sunye gave birth to a daughter in October.[citation needed] In December 2013, Sohee left the group, and signed to BH Entertainment to focus on an acting career. However, there appears to be no desire to completely cut her off from JYP Entertainment and her singing career.

Sohee is open to return to promote with the group as agreement between JYP Entertainment and her new agency. BH Entertainment said, "Her exclusive contract with JYP merely expired; it is not true that she will completely halt her singing activities. If her previous agency offers her an album or another form of collaboration, the door to opportunities is wide open. We will reflect on Sohee's opinion to the utmost." In March 2014 JYP stated that the group are not disbanding; however, it was reported on December 10, 2014 that Sunye was to retire, which JYP later denied.

Comeback as a quartet and SunMi's return

On June 24, JYP Entertainment announced that the Wonder Girls would be making a comeback after a three year hiatus. A representative of the agency confirmed that former member Sunmi will be re-joining the group for the first time since withdrawing in 2010. They will return as a four member band rather than a dance group. Each member will be playing an instrument: Yubin (drums), Yeeun (keyboard), Hyelim (guitar), and Sunmi (bass). Member Sunye will remain inactive and will not be involved in the promotional activities. The group recently completed a music video shoot on the same day and are planning to make their official return in August.

Members : Min Sun-ye (inactive), Kim Yubin, Park Ye-eun, Lee Sunmi, Woo Hye Lim, Kim Hyuna, Ahn So-hee.
